Job description

Key Experience
  • Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or relevant qualification and experience
  • Construction, infrastructure or railway Industry experience
  • Previous Main Contracting and / or Sub Contractor experience
  • Able to prepare and implement a project specific commercial strategy
  • Ensuring robust Cost Control & Budget Management throughout the project
  • An understanding of contractual arrangements and financial reporting;
  • Seeking long-term career prospects and development;

The Role

Our client is currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a key railway infrastructure upgrade in South Wales.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse and multi-disciplinary contract, in an industry that will offer you career growth. Some prior rail experience is necessary, due to the nature of the project.

Working as a valued member of their project team, you will be key to ensuring cost and budgetary control is managed robustly across the project.

You will be involved in all and given the training and support you need to succeed. Aspects of your role will include:
  • Procurement of suppliers and sub-subcontractors
  • Ensure robust Cost Control & Budget Management
  • Optimising project margins
  • Financial reporting for the project
  • Monthly/periodically application for payment reporting
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff
  • Management of change control procedures
  • Preparation and issuance of contractual notices
  • Understanding of risk and identifying the implications.
  • Preparation and implementation of project specific commercial strategy
