Senior Quantity Surveyor, West Yorkshire Region

PSR Solutions is working with one of the largest and well known major contractors in the UK. They undertake contracts across the built environment and civil engineering sectors, have a track record of delivering some of the most complex and high value projects in the area and employ a team of Quantity Surveyors at varying levels reporting to a Commercial Director.

If you enjoy working for a tier one contractor, helping to deliver significant projects in challenging conditions this role will be of interest. You will be part of a team developing, managing and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies and communities rely on. Initially the successful candidate will be engaged to work on defects for major projects in Yorkshire, before moving back into the main stream business, working out of the Leeds office

Summary of duties
  • Providing advice and guidance to other members of the team and to Project Directors/ Managers
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, be accountable for the profitability of the project, and develop an appropriate commercial strategy for the project to ensure delivery of required margins
  • Contribute to the contract cost reporting system, ensuring all financial information is managed, up-to-date and tracked with budget/tender allowances, with commitments and deviations highlighted and managed
  • Produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value


Your background
  • Have substantial previous experience in Quantity Surveying within a relevant business environment
  • Have a sound working knowledge of construction and contract law and various forms of Conditions of Contract
  • Strong understanding of tendering and procurement processes
