My Client operates throughout the UK providing a construction service delivering turn-key projects to a number of repeat business clients. They have an extensive portfolio of Design & Build schemes focusing on the student accommodation, private rental and hotel sectors. The company are situated in the Lancashire area and they have an abundance of work in the North West.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tender Planner to join their team.

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, the main duties for this role will include; tender planning and developing your own construction programmes. Managing sites across the whole group and reviewing sites to manage programmes.

Other duties include;

  • Leading in the preparation of a construction programme highlighting areas of improvement against the contract programme
  • Prepare a tender event programme for the procurement of subcontractors incorporating design release and lead in activities
  • Maintain electronic files and administration of planning and programme document to facilitate retrieval as required, utilising the common data environment
  • Provide all programme information as required support the management team
  • To review risk and opportunities for every programme produced and highlight potential mitigation measures in the programme, including; float and time risk allowances
  • Produce a construction methodology in close cooperation with the project team to effectively demonstrate the construction techniques and sequencing in order to successfully deliver projects
  • Use the construction programme to produce/assist in the production of project prelim books including, but not limited to, staff resource, logistics and temporary works requirements.
  • To engage with the supply chain to develop the project programme with regards to design, lead-ins, construction periods, plant and labour requirements

Management Responsibilities;

  • To report back to the Pre-Construction Director the current programme position on all projects they are working on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • To regularly review programmes, outputs and phasing with the Pre-Construction Director
  • To lead and coordinate with others in the duties under planning and programme management in the pre-construction process
  • To lead and coordinate with others in the duties under planning and programme management on site
  • Input to the assessment of the programme and entitlements under the contract-coordinate outputs with the management team
  • Check the quality of the production of planning and programme documents generally under their control. Including the site teams and Assistant Planners

Skills and Experience;

  • Holds the relevant degree or diploma
  • Qualification in construction management
  • Certification for use of planning and programme software, preferably Asta Powerproject
  • Successful track record of working with clients, contractors and other stakeholders on live construction projects
  • Extensive knowledge of UK and EU legal framework, in particular, contract management
  • Understand JCT and NEC forms of contract
  • Presentation techniques training
