Client

My Client are a Midlands Based Civil Engineering contractor who due to a successful work winning period require additional Senior Quantity Surveyors to join their Commercial Teams.

They currently work across the below Civil Engineering Sectors and plan to expand their presence in all over the below markets over the next 12-18 months.
  • Substructures
  • Earth Retention
  • Roads
  • Drainage
  • Large-scale infrastructure projects


Role

Senior Quantity Surveyors are required to support a number of medium to large scale projects across the West Midlands. Key responsibilities include;
  • Managing multiple projects at once including pre-tender involvement.
  • Ensuring that the financial aspects and impact of a contract are clear to management
  • Providing detailed financial reports i.e. budget monitoring, cost & value etc.
  • Work closely on a daily basis to ensure real time report to the Accounts department.
  • Accurate cost reporting & valuations for a variety of contracts.
  • Manage all costs relating from building, utilities, plant hire to civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures.
  • Assisting in establishing a client's requirements and undertaking feasibility studies
  • Performing risk and value management to cost control
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses including commercial risks
  • Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
  • Meet all deadlines in a proactive and forthcoming manner to include all internal weekly/monthly commercial reporting meetings.
  • Weekly report meetings with Senior Management on current tenders, projects won to ensure an accurate project forecast is in place.


Experience
  • Considerable experience in Civil Engineering and projects valued between £10,000 and £2m.
  • Experience in Groundworks and Earthworks engineering
  • Working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme & Risk Management.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills with attention to detail
  • Hard working, pro-active and bringing credibility
  • Wide experience of civils and groundworks markets including infrastructure, residential, industrial and energy.
