Job description

My client is a design-build contractor who have been in business for over 60 years. They are an international business and carry out work across all sectors. They are currently in the market for a Site Engineer for a New Build development in Manchester. The initial scheme is a residential development ranging in height from 8 to 10 stories and valued at £25Million.

  • Engineering duties, accurate setting out of site activities including, drainage, piling, groundworks, concrete and steel frame structures, also includes additional work packages which require engineering requirements
  • Working to required specifications and drawings
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Checking sub contract works
  • Site supervision
  • Quality control
  • Design co-ordination on work packages
  • Ensuring company health & safety procedures are adhered to
  • Ensuring all work is conducted safely and in compliance with current company policies; ensuring high productivity and efficiency through effective control and utilisation of the contract workforce and its equipment; operating within the appropriate Safety Management systems
  • Responsible for ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the relevant legislation and that all operational staff have the appropriate competencies and authorisations to undertake works
  • Responsible for KPI's within their control
  • Responsible for monitoring performance to ensure that all objectives are met and any problems are anticipated and resolved
  • Leading by example and, in conjunction with the SHESQ team, ensure a proactive safety culture that leads to zero incidents and accidents at all levels of operations
  • Ensure work is being undertaken in compliance with best practice and all policies and procedures, providing technical advice and guidance where necessary
  • Ensure that all relevant documentation related to work and produced by the contract, is completed in a timely, comprehensive and correct manner

  • At least 12 months' experience in a project role
  • Experience of concrete frames, setting out and groundwork.
  • Familiarity with project documentation and project management terminology
  • Engineering Qualification
