Job description

My client is one of the UK's leading fire proofing companies, they deliver high-quality, fully compliant passive fire protection solutions for construction projects of all sizes. They work with clients to protect them from non-compliance and ensuring best practice. They have the best reputation in the industry and have worked on some of the most prestigious projects in the UK. Due to company expansion, an opportunity has arisen for a Site Supervisor to join their Delivery team in Liverpool for an 8-month contract.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager you will be responsible for teams of Operators, The purpose of the role;

Responsibility for the production activities of contracts to which he/she is assigned, and he/she should execute them as follows:

  • In a manner which enhances and maintains the company's name and reputation for quality, in accordance with ISO 9001.
  • To ensure that contracts are properly manned in terms of labour, plant and equipment and sub-contractors, and that costs are kept within cost value programme.
  • To ensure that project programmes are maintained at all times and that each stage of the project is kept in accordance with the programme's completion date.
  • To develop and improve relationships and performance of staff and/or operatives and sub-contractors under his/her control.
  • To attain with the surveyor profitable execution of work.
  • To represent the company, while necessary, in dealing with clients or their agents, professional staff, sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • To ensure current legislation in respect of safety and the environment is fully implemented on the contract under his/her control.

Key Responsibilities;

  • To achieve the weekly and/or monthly production targets scheduled in the programme for each contract entrusted to him/her.
  • To meet the scheduled completion dates for each stage of the contract and for the whole contract within the limits agreed in the programme for the contract.
  • To maintain and enhance the company's reputation, standards and goodwill as a fire proofing contractor and as an employer, as its representative on site.
  • To fulfil in its entirety the company's statutory requirements on health and safety.
  • To ensure the labour force is properly balanced and of the right type in relation to the workload at all times and regularly assess the competency
  • of personnel so engaged - recommending training/development as required.
  • To select, request and deploy suitable plant and control plant costs.
  • To monitor and control the use of material used on site in accordance with programme requirements.
  • To co-operate and monitor sub-contract work and sub-contract personnel on site.
  • To record variation orders issued on site and pass to the surveyor.
