Mechanical Foreman (non-working)
An exciting opportunity has presented itself to work for a highly successful Nottingham-based M&E contractor, as non working Mechanical Foreman / Supervisor on a freelance basis.
Role Purpose:
- Ensure that all the mechanical installations are carried out with the maximum efficiency, to the highest quality and to the company's standard on all key issues.
- Manage and ensure that all works are installed the companies high standard of workmanship maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
- Work collaboratively with all members of the delivery team including electrical colleagues and supply chain subcontractors and partners.
- Liaise the Clients, Principal contractors and their supply chain partners and Subcontractors to ensure clear lines of communication are maintained to achieve successful delivery of projects.
Key Tasks
- Health & Safety
- Weekly Supervisors Inspections - shared with electrical supervisor
- Ensure all operatives & sub-contractors have correct and up to date tickets
- Ensure operatives & sub-contractors have a break once a day
- Weekly Scaffold Inspections/Scafftags or as required
- Plant inspections as required
- Safety Committee Meetings - if required
- Tool Box Talks
- DABS
- Near Miss Reporting
- House Keeping
- Implementation of mission zero
- Method Statements/Risk Assessments/Task Sheets
- Inspection & Test Plan
- Complete all ITP documents - monitoring, completion of inspection sheets and keeping up to date, utilising modern app-based technologies such as R Drive etc
- Ensure all installations are in accordance with specs/drawings/RDS
- Witnessing & recording of pipework pressure tests of the specialist trade contractors
- Monitor progress installation/procurement/drawings
- Monitor progress against programme and complete progress report
- Verify works complete
- Sign Off Completion
- Snag all works/record defects and dates for completion
- Review and feedback any possible delays
- Maintain and regularly mark-up "As Fitted" drawings
- Ensure all sub-contractors are working to the latest issue drawings
- Analyse information supplied by suppliers/sub-contractors
- Co-ordinate information between suppliers/sub-contractors
- Raise RFI's with the respective M&E Engineers in a timely manner
- Keep all relevant reports up to date
- Input to dependency schedule
- Material Deliveries (all below to be in conjunction with storeman "if" applicable)
- Check advice note for compliance.
- Complete NCR's for any damaged goods.
- Action Daily Material Returns
- Ensure all materials are securely stored away in lockable containers.
- Complete "Free Issue" Goods Issue note to respective subcontractors.
- Agree co-ordination and off-loading with subcontractors and principal contractors.
- Computer literacy
- It is essential to have competency with Microsoft software packages such as Excel, Word & Powerpoint.
