Purpose of the Role
- Ensure integration management procedures are implemented effectively.
- Ensure integration of major and minor sub systems is managed, facilitating a right first-time design and construction activities.
- Support the Systems Engineering team in managing and identification of interfaces.
- Support Systems Engineering team in V&V activities.
- Support Project Manager in identification of change events.
- Monitor engineering integration performance, acting promptly to address any issues that arise during the delivery of all projects.
- Ensure that staff are briefed on new and revised processes, procedures, and standards.
- Ensure that the quality of all design and construction activities meets the required standards, contractual obligations, and customers' expectations.
- Provide all required input and deliverables required to ensure timely hand back of all projects.
Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
- Work as directed by the Lead Design Organisation Manager
- Support the Contractor's Engineering Manager (CEM) in the resolution of interfaces.
- Responsible for inputting and updating the Technical Interface Management Register.
- Responsible for preparation of Interface Control Documents (ICD).
- Responsible for maintaining and updating the Division of Responsibility documents.
- Responsible for identification of commercial change instigated by integration activities.
- Interface with the Delivery Managers and Subcontractors to develop integrated solutions to fulfil the customer requirements.
- Brief changes in Client's and Company procedures, engineering standards, engineering processes and legislations to relevant staff.
- Attend meetings and briefings as required.
- Ensure that compliance system (Internal and external audits, surveillance and self-checks) is developed and maintained.
- Carry out technical Audits, propose corrective actions and monitor close out.
- Ensure processes and procedures are implemented for the safety of the line to be considered and maintained at all stages of the work.
- Ensure robust quality and safety critical records are maintained.
- Carry out investigations of incidents as directed. Produce reports and corrective action plans.
- Attend Network Rail Engineering and Technical briefings.
- Attend Network Rail compliance meetings.
- Attend and cascade briefings.
- Regularly review and update the engineering processes and procedures.
- Attend all training and induction courses as directed.
- Carry out regular safety tours as directed.
- Perform on Call duties as required.
- Achieve zero corrective actions under audit.
- Ensure that all design and construction disciplines CREs are consulted as necessary.
- Support the business development activities of the Infrastructure Division.
- As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.

Person Specification
The job holder will have:
- Proven managerial experience.
- Engineering qualifications preferred.
- Chartered Engineer or working toward Chartered Engineer status.
- Proven experience in engineering a general knowledge of all disciplines.
- Project Engineering experience.
- Knowledge of Permanent Way, S&T, OLE, E&P, HV, Telecoms and other discipline's principles practices and procedures.
- Sound Technical / Engineering knowledge
- Good commercial awareness.
- Ability to lead and motivate people to ensure compliance with all relevant technical, quality, environmental and safety standards.
- Ability to manage conflict resolution and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Personal Track Safety
