Job Title: Banksman

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Banksman to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe movement of vehicles and machinery on-site, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and guide the movement of vehicles, plant, and machinery within the site to ensure safe operations.
- Communicate clearly with drivers and operators using standard hand signals and/or radio communication.
- Monitor and maintain safe distances between moving vehicles, equipment, and personnel.
- Ensure that loading and unloading activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Conduct visual checks of the work area to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Assist in implementing site traffic management plans and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe practices promptly to the site supervisor.
- Maintain vigilance to prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Banksman or in a similar role within construction, logistics, or industrial environments.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and traffic management procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Certification in Banksman duties (or willingness to obtain).
- High level of attention to detail and situational awareness.
