The Graduate Engineer will be responsible for the day to day surveying and setting out of duties on site. Supporting the Technical & Engineering team during all phases of the development process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting out of civil engineering and building works on various sites within the company's operating area
  • Understand and interpret the drawings and specifications.
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
  • Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues,
  • Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems
  • Maintain standards of safety &comply with the company's health, safety & environment management system requirements
  • Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace
  • Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification.
  • Assist with compilation of as built drawings
  • Interacts with stakeholders around specific work efforts and deliverables
  • Able to work within a given budget

Application for new main services connections and diversions.
  • Appointing and managing the consultant design team.
  • Coordination of the supplier designs.
  • Collation and issue of design information for statutory approval, tendering, construction and sales.
  • Securing technical approvals for NHBC, building regulations, section agreements and discharge of planning conditions.
  • Providing technical support to all other departments.
  • Administrative duties including drawing issues, printing, filing, taking and issuing meeting minutes.

The successful candidate is likely to meet most of the following
  • Newly graduated or due to graduate in Civil Engineering

Grade C in English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) or have / are currently studying for a ONC/HNC in Construction & Built Environment (or similar)
  • Relevant work placement experience
  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Held student membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-driven
  • Positive outlook
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office
  • A commitment to developing a career within the construction industry
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to show initiative and to work independently
  • Ability to learn about all aspects of the business quickly
