PSR wins business of the year 2017

The 2017 Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards took place on 6^th July at Staffordshire County Showground at an exciting awards dinner celebrating the success of Staffordshire’s thriving business community.

The PSR team, specialists in construction recruitment, were delighted to be returning to the event after winning the Professional Services of the Year Award alongside Wardell Armstrong LLP in 2016.

Over the past year, the PSR team have seen some substantial changes… A rebrand, new bespoke website, office moves both in the Midlands & London, and most recently opened an office in Sheffield to support our 10-year business plan taking us to 150 staff and £100m turnover. Check out our 2016 highlights blog for more.

The team were delighted to hear that we had been shortlisted for the Medium/ Large Business of the Year award and the ultimate award of the evening, Business of the Year!

Sara Williams, Chief Executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce expressed how strong the nominations were this year with nearly 300 applications. Therefore, we would like to congratulate everyone who made it to the finals as it shows what a strong region Staffordshire is for business excellence.

The Results

In an exciting double win, we were delighted to be awarded both Medium/ Large Business of the Year as well as the overall Business of the Year award!

This ultimate award is selected by the judges from all the finalists across the other categories.

The Business of the Year is considered by judges to possess key, winning qualities with an excellent all-round performance across a range of attributes important for sustainable business success. The judges commented on PSR’s “high levels of employee engagement and business performance” which they felt surpassed other finalists; this is fantastic for us to hear given the number of applicants this year.

The judges looked at 4 core areas of each business:

• Leadership & Management
• Staff engagement
• Development Training
• Financial Sustainability

Express & Star – “PSR Solutions walked away with the blue riband award for their all-round performance across a range of attributes. The company also won the Medium/ Large Business of the Year award.

More than 420 guests gathered to honour the county’s greatest business success stories at the Staffordshire County Showground, in a black-tie event hosted by Signal 1 Breakfast Show presenters, Foxy and Jennie”.

PSR recognise this significant achievement for the whole team as it highlights the commitment and hard work from each employee as we continually strive to better ourselves professionally. The core aim of our organisation is to remain the recruiter of choice within the UK construction industry and our solid 10yr strategy helps to support this.

The team thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the awards ceremony and the evening will certainly go down in PSR history! The PSR team members that attended the event commented that “winning this award solidifies why I joined PSR. The ethos we have as a team is strong and ambitious, and this clearly resonates through to those we do business with. Moving forward this shows there are solid opportunities for growth internally and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the team.”
