Location: Essex / Hertfordshire - £20m MEP Commercial Scheme

Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 + package

We are currently working with an established M&E contractor with a good reputation in the market and a strong track record of developing and progressing their own people.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the mechanical package on a £20m MEP commercial scheme.

The Role

As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the mechanical package, working closely with the client, consultants, subcontractors and wider project team from pre-construction through to completion.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of the mechanical package throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Managing the mechanical subcontractors and supply chain.

  • Coordinating mechanical design, installation and commissioning.

  • Managing project programmes, costs and resources.

  • Overseeing procurement and subcontractor packages.

  • Managing variations, valuations and project costs.

  • Monitoring commercial performance and identifying potential risks.

  • Working closely with the commercial and project teams.

  • Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Ensuring the mechanical works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in building services.

Strong commercial experience is essential. You must be comfortable taking responsibility for project costs, budgets, variations, subcontractor accounts, valuations and the overall commercial performance of your mechanical package.

You should have:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager.

  • Strong mechanical building services knowledge.

  • Experience delivering sizeable commercial projects.

  • Strong commercial awareness and project financial management experience.

  • Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and supply chain partners.

  • Good understanding of programmes, procurement and project risk.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • A professional and proactive approach to project delivery.
