A highly reputable care provider is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Domestic Housekeeper to join their care home service in the Lockerbie area. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who can oversee the domestic, laundry and kitchen assistant teams, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the care home.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the domestic, laundry and kitchen assistant services
• Lead and support domestic and housekeeping staff to ensure high standards are maintained
• Organise cleaning and laundry duties across the care home
• Ensure communal areas, bedrooms and other areas are kept clean, tidy and hygienic
• Monitor laundry processes and ensure residents' clothing and linen are appropriately handled
• Support the kitchen assistants and ensure appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained
• Manage cleaning and laundry supplies and monitor stock levels
• Ensure cleaning and laundry procedures comply with relevant health, safety and infection control standards
• Assist with staff rotas, allocation of duties and general team organisation
• Work closely with the wider care home team to ensure the environment remains comfortable and welcoming for residents

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience working in a domestic, housekeeping or cleaning role, ideally within a care home or similar setting
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is desirable
• Good understanding of cleaning, laundry and hygiene standards
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to lead and support a team effectively
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently
• A caring and respectful approach when working within a care home environment
• Satisfactory PVG check required
