Our client is a leading infrastructure contractor working across the Railway, Highways and Power sectors, and specialising in the delivery of sustainable mechanical, electrical and telecommunication engineering solutions.

They are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor with major project Rail sector experience, able to drive efficiencies and foster effective supply chain engagement.

Senior Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer NEC3/4 Option C Contracts.
  • Lead the review and valuation of contractor payment applications in line with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Liaise and negotiate with the Customer's Commercial and Project teams.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure commercial records are maintained in accordance with contract requirements and oversee any contractual issues.
  • Investigate and draft contract communications and notices, including Early Warning Notices and notifications of Compensation Events.
  • Provide contractual and commercial risk advice to the Commercial, Technical, and Construction Delivery teams.
  • Monitor and report on commercial and cost reporting aspects of allocated projects.
  • Support the programme and project teams to ensure full compliance with contract and corporate governance rules.

Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management or equivalent construction related qualification.
  • Previous Main contractor and/or joint venture experience within the rail industry.
  • Experience managing M&E packages of work an advantage.
  • Proficient in managing NEC3-4 contracts
  • Experienced in negotiating and procuring sub-contract packages
  • Experienced in self-delivery of projects from pricing and award, through to final accounts.
  • Experience managing and developing junior commercial staff.
