Senior Quantity Surveyor - Structural / Civils Package

Location: Near Acton, London (4 days on-site / 1 day WFH)
Contract Type: Permanent or Freelance (Outside IR35)

PSR Solutions is working with a well-established Tier 2 contractor delivering a high-value subcontract package as part of a major infrastructure programme. The work covers civils, drainage, utilities, and structures, including steel frame, some FRC, cladding, and fit-out, separate from the main station works.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Change Team, currently six-strong, to support the evaluation and management of variations, change, and commercial queries across multiple subcontract packages. This is a hands-on role, ideal for a self-delivering candidate with proven experience within a Tier 2 or Tier 3 contractor environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and process change orders and variations across the subcontract

• Collaborate with project, commercial, and site teams to ensure accurate costing and reporting

• Support forecasting and cost tracking for the £150-200m subcontract under NEC3 Option C

• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and obligations

• Provide technical and commercial advice on structural steel and FRC elements

• Work closely with civils and engineering teams to validate measurements and valuations

• Maintain accurate records and report on commercial performance

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 4 years' experience on high-value civils/structural packages

• Hands-on experience with structural steel, and some FRC exposure

• Proven track record as a self-delivering Senior QS, preferably within Tier 2 / Tier 3 contractors (e.g., Keltbray, Statom, Cofely)

• NEC3 Option C experience advantageous

• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

• Flexible regarding permanent or freelance arrangements
