The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading large main contractor based in Birmingham, working on a landmark high-rise, multi-room development valued up to £120 million.

Reporting directly to the Commercial Lead, you will play a key role in the commercial management and successful delivery of this major project, from procurement through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day commercial management of the project

• Support the Commercial Lead in overall cost control and reporting

• Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and appointment

• Prepare and manage subcontractor valuations, payments, and final accounts

• Administer variations, change control, and contractual correspondence

• Produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flows

• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities

• Work closely with the site and project management teams to ensure commercial objectives are met

• Ensure compliance with company procedures and contractual requirements

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor

• Experience working on high-rise residential, multi-room, or large-scale mixed-use projects

• Strong working knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT)

• Confident managing complex subcontract packages

• Strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and leadership skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
