Site Manager

The Opportunity

A well-established main contractor specialising in new build and fit out projects across the UK is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager due to a strong pipeline of work.

The business operates primarily within the industrial and food & beverage sectors, delivering complex schemes that combine steel frame base builds with high-value, technically demanding fit out packages.

Two major schemes, each valued at approximately £20m, are now commencing enabling works, with full construction phases due to ramp up in the coming months.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

You will be involved from early enabling works through to completion, managing subcontractors and coordinating works across base build and fit out elements.

Key Responsibilities

• Full on-site management of construction activities

• Managing and coordinating subcontractors and direct labour

• Overseeing enabling works, steel frame construction, and fit out packages

• Ensuring compliance with H&S legislation, company procedures, and RAMS

• Maintaining programme and driving works to meet key milestones

• Quality control and inspections to ensure works meet specification

• Chairing site meetings and liaising with the wider project team

• Maintaining accurate site records and reporting progress

Experience & Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on steel frame construction projects

• Background in industrial, food & beverage, or commercial fit out projects

• Experience delivering schemes typically valued £10m-£30m

• Strong knowledge of H&S, QA, and site compliance

• Ability to manage fast-paced, high-pressure environments

• Willingness to work nationally as projects require

• SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid (essential)
