About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support the successful delivery of major highways infrastructure projects across Kent and the South East.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing infrastructure team, playing a key role in the design, coordination, installation and commissioning of electrical systems on high-profile highways schemes. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients and subcontractors, you will ensure electrical works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of electrical engineering packages on highways infrastructure projects.
- Review and interpret electrical designs, drawings and technical specifications.
- Manage electrical subcontractors and supervise site installation activities.
- Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical and technology disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with National Highways standards, BS7671, CDM Regulations and relevant industry legislation.
- Produce and review RAMS, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), commissioning plans and quality documentation.
- Oversee testing, commissioning and handover of electrical installations.
- Monitor programme, productivity and project progress, identifying and mitigating project risks.
- Support commercial teams with procurement, cost control, change management and project variations.
- Attend client meetings, design reviews and project progress meetings.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
- Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture across all projects.

You'll be involved in the delivery of major highways infrastructure projects, including:
- Motorway and trunk road improvement schemes
- National Highways infrastructure projects
- Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS)
- Motorway communications networks
- Street lighting installations
- Traffic signal systems
- CCTV and ANPR installations
- Variable Message Signs (VMS)
- Electrical feeder pillars
- Low Voltage (LV) distribution systems
- Ducting and cable infrastructure
- EV charging infrastructure
- Road tunnel electrical systems (where applicable)
Requirements
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience delivering electrical packages on highways, infrastructure, utilities or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of LV electrical systems and infrastructure installations.
- Experience working under NEC contracts.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of National Highways standards and specifications (desirable).
- Strong understanding of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience supporting project budgets and programme delivery.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (desirable)
- Temporary Works Awareness
- NRSWA (desirable)
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH (desirable)
- First Aid at Work (desirable)
