Electrical Project Engineer (Contract)

East Midlands | 6-Month Contract | £450 per day (Ltd Company or Umbrella PAYE)

Are you an experienced Electrical Project Engineer with a background in the water sector looking for your next contract opportunity?

We are working with a leading Main Contractor delivering a portfolio of major water and wastewater projects across the East Midlands and are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of several key programmes within the Severn Trent Water framework.

This is an initial 6-month contract offering a day rate of approximately £450 per day, available on either a Ltd Company or Umbrella PAYE basis.

The Role

As Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction and delivery phases of multiple water infrastructure schemes, ensuring that projects are designed, procured and programmed effectively to achieve client and project objectives.

Working closely with internal teams, designers, suppliers and key stakeholders, your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and coordinating the electrical design process.
• Managing programme development and tracking project milestones.
• Leading procurement activities for electrical equipment and subcontract packages.
• Ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards and client requirements.
• Coordinating with design consultants, site teams and supply chain partners.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Supporting project delivery teams throughout the lifecycle of the works.
• Maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders across the Severn Trent Water framework.

Requirements

To be considered, you should have:

• Previous experience working as an Electrical Project Engineer within the water, utilities or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems associated with water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Experience overseeing design management, procurement and project programmes.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts would be advantageous.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
• Experience delivering projects for Severn Trent Water or other major UK water authorities would be highly desirable.
