Lead Electrical Design Engineer

About Our Client:
We are representing a leading engineering consultancy in their search for a skilled Principal to Associate Electrical Design Engineer. Our client's Mission Critical team specializes in building projects, with a particular focus on Data Centres.

Responsibilities:

• Lead conceptualization of specialized electrical designs for Data Centre projects.
• Specify components, materials, and systems for diverse projects, with emphasis on Data Centre environments.
• Utilize simulation tools for optimized performance in varying environments, including proficiency in relevant electrical design software.
• Collaborate with architects for seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Own design development, ensuring feasibility and compliance with relevant standards.
• Collaborate on prototype testing with a project-specific approach.
• Stay updated on emerging Data Centre trends and technologies in electrical design.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; Master's is a plus.
• Proven experience in electrical design for complex buildings, with exposure to Data Centre projects.
• Proficient in relevant electrical design software, with specific expertise in the field.
• In-depth knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to building design.
• Strong creative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for sustainable design practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum Senior-level electrical engineering experience.
• Degree in building services engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership (CIBSE, IET, etc.).
• Experience in large building projects (£5M+).
• Up-to-date knowledge of building regulations and standards.
• Competent in industry-recognized software and design tools.
• BIM knowledge and experience.
• Proficient in relevant electrical design software.
• Previous experience in Data Centre projects would be an advantage (but not a dealbreaker).
• Negotiation skills for project duties.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative.
• Good verbal communication skills.
